SYMPTOMSIf you are running Windows NT and you print from Word for Windows with the Print To File option selected, the print job is directed to the printer instead.
CAUSEWindows NT ignores the Print To File option in Word for Windows and prints to the output device designated in Windows NT Print Manager instead.
WORKAROUNDTo redirect a Word for Windows print job to an output file, you must reconfigure your printer so its output is "FILE:" instead of a printer port or network printer. To change the printer output destination in Windows NT, do the following:
Note: When you print to a file with Windows NT, you will not be prompted for the filename of the output file until the application finishes printing.
