SYMPTOMSIn the Tools Macro dialog box, if you select a Word for Windows command, the Create button is unavailable. This might lead you to incorrectly assume that you cannot modify the functionality of Word commands.
WORKAROUNDAs in previous versions of Word, you can modify Word commands by creating a global or template macro with the same name as the Word command. When Word finds a macro with the same name as a Word command, it runs the macro instead of the command. The following sections describe two methods you can use to create a macro to replace a Word command:
Method 1: Select the Command, Then Select the Availability
Method 2: Type the Word Command Name in the Macro Name BoxNote: To use this method, you must know the name of the Word command you want to modify.
MORE INFORMATIONIf you want to restore the original Word command, rename or delete the replacement macro.
