SYMPTOMS

If you create a new toolbar in Word for Windows and position it as a floating toolbar, the title displays as "Toc" if the toolbar contains only one button. If you add an additional button, the title changes to "Toolbar1".

CAUSE

On a floating toolbar that contains only one button, there is not enough room to display the complete toolbar title. As a result, Word truncates the word "Toolbar1" in the middle of the second "o", so the toolbar title appears to read "Toc".

WORKAROUND

After you create a new toolbar, you can rename it using the Rename button in the Organizer dialog box.

To open the Organizer dialog box, choose the Organizer button in the Format Style, File Template, or Tools Macro dialog box.
