  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0

SUMMARY

If you apply a shaded border to the first line of a page (not the header) other than the first page, Word for Windows incorrectly displays the shading under the last line of text on the previous page when you are in page layout view.

The shading that appears at the bottom of the previous page in page layout does not appear in print preview or normal view. The document prints correctly, with the shading at the top of the page.

CAUSE

This is a display problem only. It does not affect the printed page.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
