Merge Revisions Operation Stops at Inserted Picture

Last reviewed: February 5, 1998
Article ID: Q109970
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

When you merge a document that contains marked revisions into the original document, Word for Windows may stop merging the revisions if it encounters a modified Word 6 Drawing Object or a modified embedded graphics object. When this happens, Word displays the following error message:

The merged documents contain unmarked revisions.
Do you want to merge up to the first unmarked revision?

For example, if you review a copy of a document with revision marking turned on and edit a Word 6 Drawing Object in the document, the above error message may occur when you later merge your revisions into the original document.

The Object you edited was not marked as revised in the document.
