System May Hang Using Diamond Stealth VRAM

SYMPTOMS

Using the Diamond Stealth VRAM video driver version 1.35 at 800 x 600 resolution and 256 colors may cause a General Protection (GP) fault, the system to stop responding (hang) or return to the MS-DOS prompt when you run Word 6.0 for Windows or the Word 6.0 What's New tutorial.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, change the video driver to VGA.
