The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSA general protection (GP) fault may occur in S3FLAT.DRV while you edit a Word for Windows document or, embedded graphics may print garbled, if you are using the Dell S3 video driver version 2.1 at the 800 x 600 x 256 (Small Fonts) resolution.
CAUSEThe GP fault occurs if you select framed text in your document, regardless of the font or size of the text.
WORKAROUNDTo work around these problems, use the standard VGA video driver supplied with Windows. The Dell S3 products included here are manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
