SYMPTOMSWhen you try to create a new document with the Letter Wizard, you may receive one of the following error messages:
CAUSE
The wizard cannot find the style template letter2
The wizard cannot find this letterThe Letter Wizard cannot locate the prewritten letter template files. The Letter Wizard looks to the <WINWORD>\LETTERS subdirectory, by default, for all of the prewritten letters.
RESOLUTIONIncrease the FILES setting in your CONFIG.SYS to 60. Use a text editor to place the following line in your CONFIG.SYS:
FILES=60 The wizard cannot find the style template letter2Situation 1: To correct this problem, move the LETTER1.DOT, LETTER2.DOT, and LETTER3.DOT templates back to the directory specified in the Tools, Options, File Locations template path.Situation 2: Open your CONFIG.SYS file in a text editor such as Windows Notepad and add the following line DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\IFSHLP.SYS where "C:\WINDOWS" is your Windows program directory. The wizard cannot find this letterTo correct this problem, ensure that the prewritten letter templates are in the <WINWORD>\LETTERS subdirectory, or modify the WORDWIZ.INI file to add the path for the prewritten letter template files.
