SYMPTOMIn Word, the following error message appears after choosing Grammar from the Tools menu:
Low on memory. Close windows and save your documents. CAUSEWord needs a larger memory allocation to run the Grammar Checker.
RESOLUTIONMake more memory available to Word as follows:
System 7 and System 6 MultiFinderIf you run System 7 or System 6 MultiFinder, boost the memory allocation to Word by following these steps:
System 6, Finder onlyIf you run System 6, Finder only, minimize the amount of memory that the System consumes for best results. For more information, query in the Microsoft Knowledge Base on:
prior and memory and accessory MORE INFORMATIONIf you use System 7 or System 6 with MultiFinder, Microsoft recommends allocating 2048K to Word to run the Grammar Checker. Typically, this means the Macintosh must have a total of 4 MB (4096K) of RAM to run the System and have 2048K left over for Word. If you use System 6 with Finder, you must have minimum of 2 MB (2048K) of RAM installed to use Word's Grammar Checker.
