GP Fault Grammar Checking Hyphenated Words

SYMPTOMS

A general protection (GP) fault in Module GRAM.DLL occurs while you run the Word for Windows grammar checker if it checks a sentence that contains one of the following the hyphenated words:

   non-destructive
   pre-flight

STATUS

We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Format the word "non-destructive" with No Proofing language attributes. To do this, select the compound word "non-destructive", choose Language from the Tools menu, select No Proofing in the Language list, and choose OK.

 -or-

Use a different combination of words in place of "non-destructive" to accomplish the same meaning.
