The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

If you open several documents in Word for Windows that are formatted using Hewlett-Packard (HP) Intellifonts version 2.0, you must change the zoom percentage, or the view may cause characters in the document to display as "garbage" on the screen.

STATUS

HP is aware of the problem but is not planning to release an update to the Intellifonts. They recommend updating to TrueType fonts.

WORKAROUND

  1. Double-click the Intellifonts icon in the Program Manager.

  2. Clear the Enable Intellifonts check box.

MORE INFORMATION

Changing the video driver to VGA will not correct the problem.

The number of open documents necessary to reproduce the problem varies depending on the video driver in use.

The Intellifonts products included here are manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
