The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a
  • Microsoft Windows operating system versions 3.1, 3.11

SYMPTOMS

You receive a general protection (GP) fault when you access Page Setup from the File menu when you use the RICOH.DRV version 1.6 printer driver from Ricoh.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

The Ricoh printer emulates a Diablo, for which there is not a Windows 3.1 driver available. A possible workaround is to use the Generic/Text Only driver.
