SYMPTOMSIf you press CTRL+Q after you install the demo disk from the Word 6.0 Legal Resource Kit, Word for Windows turns on all the toolbars instead of resetting the paragraph formatting of the current selection. In other words, CTRL+Q runs the MoreToolbars macro instead of the ResetPara macro.
CAUSEWhen you install the demo disk from the Word 6.0 Legal Resource Kit, it places the DEMO.DOT template in the STARTUP subdirectory of your Word program directory (WINWORD by default). This means Word loads the template as an add-in each time you start Word, and the template features are available globally. The DEMO.DOT template reassigns the CTRL+Q key combination to the MoreToolbars macro, which turns on all the toolbars.
WORKAROUNDSMethod 1: Use the following instructions to remove DEMO.DOT from the Global Templates and Add-ins list: a. From the File menu, choose Template. b. Clear the check box next to DEMO.DOT in the Global Templates and Add-ins box and then choose OK.Method 2: Reassign CTRL+Q to the ResetPara command using the following instructions: a. From the Tools menu, choose Customize, and select the Keyboard tab. b. Select All Commands in the Categories box. c. Select ResetPara in the Commands box. d. Position the insertion point in the Press New Shortcut Key box and press CTRL+Q. (Notice that MoreToolbars appears under Currently Assigned To.) e. Select Normal.dot in the Save Changes In list. f. Choose the Assign button, and then choose the Close button. REFERENCES"Microsoft Word User's Guide," version 6.0, pages 726-728
