The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a

SYMPTOMS

When you select specific options or commands in Word for Windows, Word clears the Undo list.

CAUSE

The following is a list of options and commands that clear the Undo list:

   Selecting and clearing revision marks
   Selecting the Protect Document For Forms option
   Toggling the View Merged Data button while in Mail Merge Preview
   If a document is loaded that was created in Word version 2.0x, and
      Heading Numbering is selected
