Route Document Dialog Box Removes "&" Character from Address

SYMPTOMS

In a Word for Windows document attached to a routing slip, the name of the recipients in the Route Document dialog box may display incorrectly if the name contains an ampersand (&). Word removes the ampersand character.

This is a display problem only. Word mails the document to the correct electronic mail (email) address.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
