Word 6.0 Object Disappears from the Object Packager

SYMPTOMS

A Word 6.0 document placed in the Package object may disappear after you reopen it several times. This behavior may also occur when you place a Microsoft Excel 5.0 worksheet in the Package object. This does not result in the loss of the original file contained in the Package object.

STATUS

We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Re-create the Package Object.
