The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0
  • Microsoft Windows operating system, version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

The shortcut key combination for Change All in the Spelling dialog box may change from ALT+L to ALT+H. This behavior occurs after deleting a duplicate word, such as deleting the second "quick" in the following example,

     The quick quick brown fox

When this functionality changes, the ALT+H combination will no longer access Help. You will still be able to access Help by choosing the Help button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 6.0. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0a for Windows.

RESOLUTION

You can use the ALT+H combination to Change All or you can choose the Change All button. Word Help can be accessed by choosing the Help button.
