The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSAfter you remove the numbering from an item in the middle of a numbered list (using the Numbering button on the Formatting Toolbar), the list item maintains its indent, and the numbered item that follows does not restart at 1.
CAUSEThis behavior is by design. When you choose the Numbering button on the Formatting Toolbar, the paragraph is reformatted with Skip Numbering, which does not interrupt the list numbering and which maintains the item's indentation.
RESOLUTIONFormat the item with Stop Numbering, rather than Skip Numbering. To do this:
Note: If you have not yet removed the number from the list item, you can use the Bullets And Numbering command from the Format menu and choose the Remove button to stop numbering your list. Using this method removes the indent at the same time it removes the numbering.
