SYMPTOMSWhen your document contains multiple sections and you create a header or footer in a subsequent section, Word automatically replaces any previous header or footer in addition to affecting subsequent sections. This functionality is different than previous versions of Word for the Macintosh, where adding a header or footer to a subsequent section automatically disconnected it from the previous section.
CAUSEAll headers and footers are connected by default, so a change in one is reflected in all others. This behavior is by design in Word.
RESOLUTIONTo create a header or footer that does not replace previous headers or footers, follow these steps:
