SYMPTOMSWhen you import a Word for Windows document into a Lotus Notes document or form, one or both of the following error messages may occur:
Unknown OS Error. Insufficient Memory to Load the Executable Program Library. CAUSEThese errors may occur if any of your Lotus Notes settings are incorrect or if any of the necessary files is missing or damaged. Specifically, two files, _MSIMP.DLL and MSWORD6.CNV, and their associated NOTES.INI file settings must be correct or you may have problems importing Word documents in Lotus Notes. (Lotus Notes imports Word documents in rich text format [RTF].) Note: Word Setup installs _MSIMP.DLL and MSWORD6.CNV.
RESOLUTIONDo the following to resolve problems importing Word documents in Lotus Notes:
_MSIMP.DLLThe _MSIMP.DLL file must be located in the Notes program directory, and a line similar to the following must appear in the NOTES.INI file (located in the Windows program directory):
EDITIMPxx=Microsoft Word,0,_msimp,,.doc,.mcw,.dot,Note: In the above setting, "xx" is a unique number indicating the position of this import filter in the List Files of Type list in the Lotus Notes Import File dialog box.
MSWORD6.CNVMSWORD6.CNV must be in your <WINDOWS>\MSAPPS\TEXTCONV subdirectory, and there must be a reference to this file in the [MS Text Converters] section of your WIN.INI file, similar to the following:
