The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

When you have two Microsoft Excel worksheet objects in a Word document where the second object is linked to the first object, the second object may not print with the updated results even though it displays correctly in page layout view and print preview.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 6.0, 6.0a, and 6.0c. This problem was corrected in Word version 7.0 for Windows 95.

WORKAROUND

After making changes to the Microsoft Excel source object, activate the object that contains the links by double-clicking it, then deactivate it by clicking in the Word document or pressing the ESC key. The Microsoft Excel object that contains the links will now print correctly.
