WD6X: Update Links Setting Not Retained Between MacWord Sessions

SYMPTOMS

The Update Links setting does not remain selected between sessions of Microsft Word. You must turn it on each time you start Word. (To locate the Update Links setting, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Print tab.)

This problem does not occur in Word 6.x for Windows and later, or Word 98 Macintosh Edition.

WORKAROUND

Reselect the Update Links option each time you start Word, or create an AutoExec macro to do so.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
