The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you use the Find or Replace commands on the Edit menu and then close the Find or Replace dialog box, you may be unable to type in your document. NOTE: This behavior does not occur in Word for Windows.
CAUSEThis problem occurs only if you do all of the following:
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, click the mouse in the Word document window to reactivate it.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
