WD: "Out of Memory" Error with Grammar Checker in Word for Mac

SYMPTOMS

If you run the grammar checker more than once during a Word for the Macintosh session, an "Out of memory" error may occur.

This problem does not occur in Word for Windows.

WORKAROUND

To restore memory, quit and restart Word. You do not need to restart (reboot) your computer.

To avoid this problem, run the grammar checker only once during each Word session.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
