Last reviewed: August 5, 1997
Article ID: Q125886
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SGML Author for Word, version 1.0
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

Word's Standard and Formatting toolbars do not appear when you open a document while you also have a document open based on an SGML template. This behavior also occurs when you close all of your SGML documents and then open a non-SGML document, and when you exit and restart Word.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SGML Author for Word version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

RESOLUTION

Activate the Standard and Formatting toolbars. To do this, from the View menu, choose Toolbars. Select the Standard and Formatting Toolbars and choose OK.
