SYMPTOMSWhen you run Setup to install Word on a workstation, you may receive the following error message:
Setup cannot find LABEL3.WMF, Retry, Abort, Ignore.This message appears if Word for Windows version 6.0c has been set up on a network server, and you run Setup from the server and select any one of the following Setup options:
CAUSELABEL3.WMF was dropped from 6.0c in order to fit Word onto only seven disks. However, the file ADMIN.INF, which is used to build the WINWORD6.INF on a server installation, still contains a reference to it.
RESOLUTIONSMethod 1: Choose the Ignore option. Setup will proceed normally. Method 2: Ask your Network Administrator to open the server installation WINWORD6.INF file and remove the line referencing LABEL3.WMF so that subsequent installations will not encounter this error. |
