CAUSEThe paragraph mark at the end of the paragraph is formatted as underlined.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, upgrade to Microsoft Word 97 for Windows, or Word 98 Macintosh Edition. To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Remove Font Formatting from the Paragraph Mark
Method 2: Use the Replace Feature
Method 3: Use Direct Formatting to apply UnderlineIf you need to Underline all of your text in the paragraph, do the following:

MORE INFORMATIONBullets and numbering are a paragraph format. The bullet character or number reflects the font formatting applied to the paragraph mark. Similarly, if the paragraph mark is formatted as a certain color or with any other font format, the bullet or number displays the same formatting. Note that font formatting is not visible in the paragraph mark itself. For instance, an underlined paragraph mark does not appear underlined on screen or in the printed document.
