The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, versions 1.0, 1.0z, 2.0z
  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95 version 7.0
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

Indents and unindents applied to paragraphs are not preserved after converting your document to HTML. By contrast, indents and unindents used within an ordered (numbered) or unordered (bulleted) list are preserved.

(To increase your indent, use the Increase Indent button on the Formatting toolbar. To decrease your indent, use the Decrease Indent button on the Formatting toolbar.)

CAUSE

Paragraph indents are not supported by HTML level 2.

WORKAROUND

To achieve the effect of indented paragraphs, apply the Blockquote style.
