AppInfo$(9) and AppInfo$(10) Not Supported in 32-Bit Word

SYMPTOMS

The WordBasic commands AppInfo$(9) and AppInfo$(10) return incorrect results when running under Windows 95 and Windows NT.

CAUSE

The Windows API command GlobalCompact was removed in the Win32 API supported under Windows NT and Windows 95, and as a result, the AppInfo commands above will not work.

STATUS

These commands are not supported in Windows 95 and Windows NT.

MORE INFORMATION

In earlier versions of Word, the AppInfo$(9) command returns the total memory, in kilobytes, and the AppInfo$(10) command returns the available memory, in kilobytes.
