SYMPTOMSIf you press F1 in Word when no file is open, you receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.Word then shuts down. Any changes made to the Normal.Dot template are lost.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows 95, version 7.0. This problem was corrected in Word version 7.0a for Windows 95.
WORKAROUNDMake sure a document is open before you press F1, or select the Help menu instead.
