Prompt to Delete Parent Folder When No Files, Folder Selected

SYMPTOMS

When you press the DELETE key on your keyboard while the Open dialog box is active, you are prompted to delete the parent folder and all of its contents if no files or folders are selected.

STATUS

This problem was corrected in Word 97.

WORKAROUND

Select the file or folder you want to delete before you press the delete key.
