WD: CTRL+BACKSPACE Doesn't Work in Protected Form

SYMPTOMS

When you press CTRL+BACKSPACE while in a protected form, you hear a beep and nothing happens.

WORKAROUND

Select the text you want to delete and press the DELETE key.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows 95 versions 7.0 and 7.0a and Word 97 for Windows. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

If you press CTRL+BACKSPACE while in a document that is not protected for forms, the word to the left of the insertion point is deleted.
