Splash Screen Doesn't Display When Starting Word

Last reviewed: February 5, 1998
Article ID: Q135080
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95, version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

When you start Word, Word immediately opens a document window, bypassing the splash (startup) screen. This behavior occurs when you start Microsoft Exchange and compose a new message before you start Word.

CAUSE

Exchange opens a session of Word. When you start Word after you start Exchange, you are actually changing to the active session of Word started by Exchange.
