AutoCorrect Incorrectly Expands Words in a TableLast reviewed: February 5, 1998Article ID: Q142748 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you press TAB in a table cell when the insertion point is positioned after an AutoCorrect entry, the AutoCorrect entry will expand again. For example, if you have defined "incl" as an AutoCorrect entry for "include" and you expand the AutoCorrect entry and then re-position the insertion point after the "l" in include, the AutoCorrect entry re-expands when you press the TAB key to move to the next table cell. As a result, you get "includeude."
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 6.0, 6.0a, and 6.0c for Windows. This problem was corrected in Word for Windows 95, version 7.0.
RESOLUTIONClick Undo on the Edit menu, move the insertion point to a different location in the table cell, and then press TAB to move to the next cell.
