SYMPTOMSWhen you adjust the margin on the ruler while you have a frame selected, you may receive one of the following types of error messages:
Word for Windows 95, versions 7.0, 7.0a
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.When you click the Details button, you receive the following message:
Winword caused an invalid page fault in module Winword.exe at 0137:501bb037. Word for Windows, Versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c
Winword caused a General Protection Fault in module Winword.exe at 00e3:0d21 Word for Windows NT, version 6.0
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated. Ntword.exe Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x0040201b Word for the Macintosh, versions 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.1a
Sorry, a system error occurred, "Microsoft Word" error type 11 RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Word. To work around this problem, make sure the frame is not selected before you adjust the margin on the ruler.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows and Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition.
