WD: Drop Cap Jumps to Previous Column

SYMPTOMS

In a multicolumn document, when you insert a dropped cap at the beginning of the second or subsequent column, the dropped cap jumps to the bottom of the previous column.

WORKAROUND

After you insert the drop cap, drag it to the correct position.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been corrected in Word 97 for Windows and Word 98 Macintosh Edition.
