WD97: Launching Word Corrupts Tseng Labs ET6000 Video

SYMPTOMS

After you start Microsoft Word 97 on a system using the Tseng Labs ET6000 video chipset, the images displayed on the screen may become distorted. When you quit Word, the problem remains.

The system may appear hung due to the screen corruption; however, other than the distorted images on the screen, the system continues to operate normally.

CAUSE

This problem occurs on systems using Tseng Labs ET6000 video driver version 4.03.1400.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, replace the existing Tseng video driver with version 4.03.3600 or later.
