The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSAfter you start Microsoft Word 97 on a system using the Tseng Labs ET6000 video chipset, the images displayed on the screen may become distorted. When you quit Word, the problem remains. The system may appear hung due to the screen corruption; however, other than the distorted images on the screen, the system continues to operate normally.
CAUSEThis problem occurs on systems using Tseng Labs ET6000 video driver version 4.03.1400.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, replace the existing Tseng video driver with version 4.03.3600 or later. For information about how to obtain the updated Tseng Labs ET6000 video driver, see the Tseng Labs Web page at
