SYMPTOMSWhen you use the "Send To:" feature in Word to send a Word file to PowerPoint, you may receive the following error message:
C:\<windows>\Temp\~present.rtf Sorry, this type of file cannot be opened by PowerPoint Viewer. CAUSEYou installed the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer for Windows 95. This installation caused the PowerPoint Viewer to register itself as the PowerPoint Server, replacing PowerPoint 97 as the PowerPoint server.
RESOLUTIONPowerPoint 97 has to be re-registered as the PowerPoint Server. To register PowerPoint 97 again, use the following steps:
