The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you choose the option to "Open a File for Editing" from Microsoft Word Viewer 97, a new instance of Microsoft Word 97 is started even if there is an instance of Word already running.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
