WD97: Paragraph Mark Appears Cropped When Using Tahoma Font

SYMPTOMS

When you click Show/Hide on the Standard toolbar to display paragraph marks in a Word document, the paragraph marks in the Tahoma font appear to be cropped or clipped when compared with paragraph marks in other fonts.

CAUSE

The paragraph mark in the Tahoma font is designed to be displayed with a single vertical line. The paragraph mark in other fonts is designed to be displayed with two vertical lines.

The Tahoma font is the default font for menus and ToolTips in Microsoft Word 97 and other Microsoft Office 97 programs.
