SYMPTOMSWhen you click Select All, and then click Links, on the Edit menu, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.When you click Details, the following error message is displayed:
WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module MSO97.DLL at 0137:<address> CAUSEThis problem occurs when the document contains links to both floating (Float Over Text) and inline objects.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Do Not Select AllDo not select linked floating and inline objects simultaneously before viewing the Links dialog box.
Method 2: Convert the Floating Objects to Inline Objects
Method 3: Remove the Links
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
