WD97: Word 2.0 Templates Such as Letblock, Memo2, Not Supported

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open or use a Word for Windows 2.x template, you may receive the following message: 

   The macros in this template are in WinWord 2.0 format and will not be
   converted. Do you want to continue to open the template?
If you click Yes, Word will convert the template, but all macros and glossary entries will be lost.

CAUSE

Word for Windows version 2.x templates are not supported in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows.

Some of these templates contain address book, distribution list, and macro functionality for Word 2.0. These templates were updated for Word 6.0, but were not updated for Word 97.
