The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you attempt to insert a JPEG picture object into Microsoft Word from Photo Editor, Photo Editor will appear to stop responding when you click "Exit and Return to <document>" on the File menu. After a long delay however, Photo Editor will insert the picture into Microsoft Word, and then quit.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when your computer has 16 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM) or fewer.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Photo Editor 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
