The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you open a Microsoft Word for the Macintosh document (versions 6.0 or 6.0.1) in Word 97, and then save the document in Word 6.0/95 format, any inline pictures in the document become a large red X containing the following message:
Use Word 6.0c or later to view Macintosh picture.NOTE: This error message occurs when you reopen the document in Word 97.
RESOLUTIONTo correct this problem, install Microsoft Word 97 Service Release 1 (SR- 1). The picture may not always appear, but it will print correctly. To work around this problem, use any of the following methods:
