SYMPTOMSAfter you install a supplemental converter, you may not see the name of a supplemental text converter in the List Files Of Type (Microsoft Word 6.x) or Files Of Type (Microsoft Word 7.x, 97) drop-down list in the Open dialog box.
WORKAROUNDIn order for Microsoft Word to recognize the new converter, do the following:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
