The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you click a hyperlink in Microsoft Word to open the link in Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then click the Back button to switch back to Word, nothing happens and Microsoft Internet Explorer remains active.
CAUSEThis is a timing issue: this problem occurs when you launch Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x from Word, and Microsoft Internet Explorer finishes launching before Word can establish a connection to it.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
