SYMPTOMS

When the default template in Microsoft Word uses Page Layout view and Microsoft Outlook uses Word as its email editor, the default view in Word changes to Normal view.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not use Word as the e-mail editor in Outlook. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, click Options on the Tools menu.

  2. On the E-mail tab, click to clear the "Use Microsoft Word as the e-mail editor" check box, and then click OK.
