WD97: Run Time Error If Court Name Blank in Pleading Wizard

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word 97, if you create a brief with the Pleading Wizard and enter a blank court name, the following error message is displayed when you press ENTER:

   Run Time Error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, install Microsoft Word 97 Service Release 1 (SR- 1).

NOTE: The updated Pleading Wizard is not included with all versions of SR- 1. For information about how to obtain the template files, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 97 SR-1.
