SYMPTOMSWhen you open a Microsoft Word 6.x or 7.x document in Word 97, dot or dash borders on inline (non-floating) objects are lost. NOTE: This problem does not occur with borders on floating objects. Inline objects include paragraphs, tables, frames, and inline pictures. Floating objects include drawing objects and text boxes.
WORKAROUNDAfter opening the document in Word 97, reapply the dot or dash border. To do this, follow these steps:
