SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word, the Page Numbers command on the Insert menu allows you to specify a starting page number other than 1 and is limited to a specific number range.

The number range of the starting page number varies from one version of Word to another. The following table lists the number format range for each version.

To change the page numbering Start At, follow these steps:

  1. On the Insert menu, click Page Numbers.

  2. In the Page Numbers dialog box, click Format.

  3. In the Page Number Format dialog box, under Page Numbering, click to select Start At, type the desired starting page number, click OK, and then click Close to exit the Page Numbers dialog box.
